I fly with Jaybird Because:
When I first moved to Vancouver in November 2022, I only knew a handful of people. I tried my very first Jaybird class (the burn) and was instantly hooked. I loved the workout, the atmosphere, the instructor, and the collective energy. I felt a sense of community at Jaybird and I knew that when I entered the Jaybird doors, I would be greeted with kindness and positivity. I am so grateful for Jaybird and for the opportunity to move with this beautiful community.
My journey to jaybird:
I grew up dancing and doing cheerleading and have always enjoyed moving my body. My first group fitness role was in my hometown (London, ON) where I taught barre classes. I began this role in my first year of university and still teach there when I visit home. Teaching barre gave me confidence to speak to and connect with new people which has helped me to make friends here in Vancouver. Barre also taught me a lot about moving my body using a combination of ballet and pilates. When I moved to Vancouver, I tried Jaybird and fell in love. Every time I take a class at Jaybird I feel as though I am on cloud 9. Let's fly Jaybird!
What MiNdfulness Means to Me:
To me, mindfulness means taking time to stop and listen to my body, my breath, my surroundings, and to analyze what is going through my mind. Taking a pause to ground myself in the present moment has given me the tools to practice gratitude for my mind and body.
