I fly with Jaybird Because:
To me, Jaybird is where movement truly becomes medicine. My background in healthcare has shown me how deeply our bodies and our minds are connected and how essential movement is for healing, balance, and vitality. Jaybird sits beautifully at the intersection of mindfulness and movement, creating a space where we can strengthen not only our bodies but also our sense of joy, resilience, and presence.
My journey to jaybird:
I began my teaching barre in 2018 while completing my masters in biomedical science in Saskatchewan-- it was my creative outlet and a way to move with purpose. In 2019, I completed my classical pilates teacher training and soon began teaching at a small local studio. Throughout medical school, teaching movement became my anchor: a creative break from the intensity of academics, a way to shift from my head into my body, and a beautiful way to stay connected with people outside the hospital walls. In 2024, I moved to Vancouver and found my home at Jaybird-- a place where I can share my passion for mindful movement while staying rooted in community and wellness.
What MiNdfulness Means to Me:
To me, mindfulness is pressing pause on the mental to-do list and tuning into the body —feeling the joy in each movement and the energy in each breath. It's about being right here, right now, and letting that presence carry you beyond the mat.
