3 Words to Describe My Teaching Style:

Mindful, curious, invitational

My music style:

I love music that makes me feel! R&B, Hip Hop, Nigerian Pop, Afro-beat, and anything with a good beat of soulful lyrics.

I fly with Jaybird Because:

I love the idea of getting out of your head and into your body! As someone who has a congenital spine disorder / unconventional body and who has struggled to feel at home in their body, Jaybird offers an accessible way to land into yourself meeting you where you are and sparking opportunity for curiosity and exploration. Encouraging a judgment free practice the care and invitation to journey within resonates deeply.

My journey to jaybird:

I have always been interested in the body, using it as a source of inspiration during my BFA undergrad where my work explored the relationship between art, the body, and embodied process. After my spine surgery I found myself needing to redefine how I showed up for myself and tried many methods. Jaybird resonated as it is less about what you look like and all about how it feels- and what a privilege it is to feel. Outside of Jaybird I work in contrast therapy guiding guests in mindfulness and self care practices and welcoming a space for folks to deepen their connection with their minds and bodies.

What MiNdfulness Means to Me:

Awareness, presence and opportunity for a deepening of the connection within our consciousness. To be mind-FULL, not lacking anything and having the tools within ourselves to persevere, rise and relish in the beautiful gift of life in this body.

words to live by:
Alok Vaid-Menon “Some of us have always known that the body is a poem. The way we move, dress, breathe—this is our art.”

Mary Oliver- “You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.”
